Steps for downloading pbit file #8
Comments
Hey @swonge first you need to check what process template you're using (see prerequisites) - this link is handy. Whatever work item types are in your project that map to the process template in that link, then that's the process you're using. So you should download the .pbit files based on your Azure DevOps process template. Happy to have a call if easier to work through :) |
Thanks for your prompt response. |
On your Azure DevOps backlog, (Boards > Backlogs) what work item types do you see? Product Backlog Item is the Scrum template, User Story is the Agile template...
Thanks,
Nick

I tired to open Visual Studio (2019), then choose "Team" > "Team Project Collection Settings" > "Process Template Manager". It brings me to the Azure DevOps Portal's Process page, and I can't go any further as there's no Export option for the template that my company uses.

problem resolved. The issue happened in VS 2019 which I used. After switch to VS 2017. the "Process Template Manager" selection windows pop up |
Sorry for commenting a closed issue, but I have the same issue. Is VS2017 really the solution then? No other options? |
Not a problem - I'm not sure on VS2017 as a solution to be honest :/ The first link provides guidance on what different process templates there are. Another way is to go to dev.azure.com/[Your Organisation Name]/[Your Project Name]/_settings/ and then your process template name will be in the middle of your page (as a hyperlink) - if you click it then it will show you the work item types on your project :) |
Thanks for the swift reply. I am fully aware of the process template name, just like you describe, I'm just totally at a loss what to do with that information. According to the instructions I'm supposed to download a .pbit file but I have no idea how to do that, even if I know the process template name. |
Can you download from the repo? |
Hi,
I'm new to both Azure DevOps (Cloud) and PowerBI Desktop. I'm trying to follow the steps on this site for Prerequisites setup. However, I'm a bit lost on the step 3 part which mention
"Download the .pbit files based on your Azure DevOps template (Scrum or Agile - inherited processes also work fine)"
Can you elaborate the step that needs to be down here? Thanks
