Provide a way of ergonomically casting values

This is especially useful when working with newtypes.

The cast function should probably be just an alias to coerce.

There are libraries like Witch or Relude.Extra.Newtype that allow smart conversion between types, but ideally we should keep this as dumb as possible, and users should ideally do the wrapping/unwrapping manually, as it is more explicit.
