It's my understanding that this should be working, but it's a lot of time since I had played with A+.

Interesting enough, the helicopter parts on KAX are working, and they use Firespitter the same…

The reason KAX parts works is that on KAX we migrated to the Stock PartModule. This is less than ideal, because the Firespitter PartModule has specialised features for helicopters.
