My monitor has dynamic power saving as a option. Whenever I command the brightness to change or read the current brightness value, DPS gets turned back on. I can turn it off, but as soon as I send a command again DPS turns back on.

What is the model of the monitor?

Unfortunately the MCCS specification I have does not mention anything about changing the backlight having side-effects on power modes.

Acer v277u.
I have two of them, one with an older firmware on it that doesn't have the DPS and one with it.
