In this report generated by ScanCode version 32.0.8 for Fedora packages, the Ripper, which is included in Ruby package is misclassified as lgpl-2.1 at these lines:

# You can distribute and/or modify this program under the Ruby License.

How To Reproduce

I just toot the report generated by somebody else.

System configuration

For bug reports, it really helps us to know:

  • What OS are you running on? Fedora

@voxik Thanks for the report! This is fairly easy fix by adding a new rule and/or tagging some of the text as mandatory in existing rules.
Can I interest you in contributing a patch? 😇 ?

This is likely something that will be fixed by #3254 when this lands in the main branch.

I would love to, but I am afraid I don't have free cycles to dive deeper into this 😞
