Animated GIFs: Preview is a fixed image

Hello, I've remarked that GIF images are played in the web browser but not in the android client when clicked on.
Looking around, it might be caused by the fact we use the local storage.

Is there any reasons to not use the online version of the file is not present locally ?
It do would mean that the file is downloaded. Just as the browser does.

Describe the solution you'd like

It would be really nice to be able to view the entire GIF when clicking on it like videos.

Maybe it's only a problem on my device, so here is the list:
