Auto upload can't handle folder with thousands of files #9803
Comments
Just a quick thought: |
Damned, I didn't think about it. Thanks, it works! |
Can confirm that app becomes unusable when queuing thousands of files for upload, after checking the "Upload existing files" checkbox. The issue most likely stems from the fact that the app handles the GUI and file operations in the same thread. The OS detects the app as hanged during long computations and closes it, resulting in no files being uploaded. If this is the case, the app will have to be redesigned a bit to handle file queuing and uploads in a separate thread. |
Definitely feels like a threading problem, however it could also be a queuing problem. The UI does depend on network activity, so might it be that the network request for the UI update goes to the back of the queue and has to wait for all of the uploads before it runs? In which case the solutions would be to use separate queues, or to prioritize placement of requests within the queue -- i.e., autouploads have lowest priority, file transfers have medium priority, and interactivity/UI has highest priority? |
I had the same issue after switching DNS name of my server. I had to remove the old account and add it again. If I go into Auto Upload settings now it doesn't show me the settings but some sort of endless loading screen (same behavior in flight mode). So I can't change settings for Auto Upload anymore. |
I met this problem too, i think it's because it has too many upload lists .Maybe add items in batches can solve this problem. That's mean don't add all files to the upload list at once.Just like add 500 item at upload list first. after uploading one add one. |
Please don't forget about this! |
I confirm the issue still exists, even on high-end devices like the latest Samsung note :/ |
Issue still exists. Had to experience it again after switching from OnePlus 7T to OnePlus 10 Pro with all settings/data copied over. |
I also have the exact same issue with my Pixel 7Pro |
