NC 11 - Cannot share files with users after update #2889

Steps to reproduce

Update from NC 10.0.2 to NC 11.0.0 with occ
Copy the Config.php and our template from the old Installation to your new one
You are unable to share files with users of the database or ldap

Expected behaviour

You should be able to share files with users.
This was working fine in NC 10.0.2

Actual behaviour

Dropdown of usernames is missing. When i enter a valid username nothing happens. When i enter an invalid ( not existing user ) NC tells me that this user isnt available.

Operating system: Debian 8.6

Updated from an older Nextcloud/ownCloud or fresh install:: Updatet from 10.0.1 to 10.0.2 to 11.0.0

Hello everybody,

I also encounter this issue. I was about to open a new one, but I just saw this one.
I read the complete description above, and it completely matches what I also experience.
This occurs whatever LDAP or internal DB users.

Additional detail to note : the only workaround I found to share something is to use the mobile phone Nextcloud application: in this way, users are matched and suggested.

Please feel free if can provide any useful detail/log.

maybe you just need to (re)enable the auto-completion option in the share section of administration?

I doubt… which LDAP server is this, and how many users do you have on it? This message can be a false positive, too. Is there anything else in the log?

Nextcloud is importing about 103 users from ldap. LDAP is also working fine and this message also appeared in NC10 but i wasn't able to reproduce this issue in NC10 or older.
Think that's a false positive.

I think i will create a snapshot of my vm and try to enable avatars like @doonya suggested.

Hi you don't have to create a snapshot of your VM, to enable avatars you only need to add this line on your config.php:
'enable_avatars' => true,
if you had a problem with avatars you only need to delete the line in config.php

Yeah sure but i already issued a rollback to 10.0.2 and i dont want to do this again.
So just in case i am going to take a snapshot, upgrade to the latest Version, enable Avatars in my config.php und when the shares are working again -> remove the snapshot.

i've exactly the same problem.
I added the enable avatars line. The only thing I noticed, if it is switched to "false" names are not resolved and if it is switched to "true", there is no difference from not specifying it at all.
Shares are shown on the other server, after you accept it, it just vanishes, the only sign of the share is in the activity log, no more no less.
If you klick on "Shared with me" you get the following in the developers console:

There also is a content-security-policy bug in the connect-src directive, if you use "example.com" to access nextcloud instead of "www.example.com" this leads to the effect, that you cannot click on accept when the message about the share is displayed.

+1 for this Problem. I got v10.0.3. I enabled and disabled (and enabled it again, as it wasn't working in both ways) avatars but still no fix.
I noticed I still can search for ldap groups.

Same issue here, config file fix didn't do anything. I don't have LDAP enabled though.

I'm having this issue with LDAP off and "enable_avatars -> false".

It was working and still is working for many people and groups, but not newly created ones.
