I recently caused some issues on my host that required me to restore my Nextcloud VM from a backup from two weeks ago. I have a nextcloud client with the more recent files synced via virtual files (the specific folder in was set to "always keep on this device")
After restoring my Nextcloud VM and logging the client in, all files created after the backup were removed permanently from the client without warning
Steps to reproduce
Have a windows client synced with virtual file support turned on
Right-click a synced folder and select "Always keep on this device"
Backup nextcloud VM
Add new files to synced folder
Stop nextcloud VM
Restore nextcloud VM to backup from step 3
Login to nextcloud again on client
The result is the files added in step 4 are deleted from the client
Expected behavior
Nextcloud client should provide some warning before deleting the files OR provide some way to restore said files after deletion
Installation method
Manual installation
Operating system
Debian/Ubuntu
PHP engine version
PHP 7.4
Web server
Apache (supported)
Database engine version
MariaDB
Is this bug present after an update or on a fresh install?
No response
Are you using the Nextcloud Server Encryption module?
