Some websites wouldn't load if the guce.* subdomain is blocked. This has something to do with how Yahoo handles cookies. All these websites seem to use Yahoo in some way.
I can confirm that:
login.yahoo.com won't work if guce.yahoo.com is blocked -- after login it tries to reach that subdomain and stops
techcrunch.com won't load if guce.techcrunch.comandconsent.yahoo.com is blocked -- it won't load at all
The only blocklists I'm using are: "NextDNS Ads & Trackers Blocklist" and "AdGuard DNS filter"; with "Block Disguised Third-Party Trackers" set to ON, "Allow Affiliate & Tracking Links" set to ON.
I can also confirm this for the following Engadget link. It tries to resolve guce.engadget.com which is blocked by the NextDNS Ads & Trackers Blocklist.
