Not really a problem, just a missing feature...

Assembly: AForge.Video.DirectShow
Class: VideoCaptureDevice
Version 1.6.0

It would be interesting to be able to set some basic parameters related to 
the video capture device, like the frame rate, the video size 
(resolution), brightness, contrast,, signal type (RGB24, i420, etc) and so 
on. WDM devices usually provide these functions.

Added functionality to display property page of video capture device, which 
allows 
changing its settings provided by driver (contrast, brightness, frame size, 
etc).

Committed in revision 474. Will be released in version 1.6.3
