After meeting with Legal team, we've got some recommendations for updates, pending a wider review of the guidance.

Also a request from Leigh to add the following to this page: https://service-manual.nhs.uk/accessibility/what-all-NHS-services-need-to-do

What should we expect teams to do on short deliveries?

  • Exclusion considered in the design of the service (e.g., GOV.UK personas, Test & Trace inclusion modelling tool & exclusion workshop)
  • Design system used for both design and code
  • Automated accessibility testing tool setup and identified issues fixed
  • Cursory WCAG evaluation performed using a checklist
  • Service journeys tested with a range of assistive technologies
  • User research planned to identify and remove barriers.

Also, would link out to the GOV.UK guidance https://www.gov.uk/service-manual/agile-delivery/making-services-in-an-emergency

Also add a link to checklists: https://nhsdigital.github.io/accessibility-checklist/
