How to handle too many notifications

I am not interested in having the phone notifications filled up. I am always most interested in the plants next to me. So, I would like to view the plants which are next to me when there are so many.

Ideas:

1. show 5/X plants at maximum
2. sum up notifications, since the open the radar either way: within 10 meters, within 20, within 50, ...
   This is like Pear, Apple, Mulberry within 20 meter Pear NE, Apple SW or Pear ↗, Apple ↙ If we add a compass or a direction in which one walks, these arrows can have a new meaning.

Possible Implementation (1):

• Show only X plants next to me.
• When I click a notification, of a plant next to me, I would like it to disappear and a new plant notification to appear of a plant further away.
• add a number to the settings (1+)

At the moment, I can not decide how to use the fruit radar notifications in a good way. If you have input, it is welcome.
Question for input:

• If you walk down a road and there is a fruit
  - on the road
  - some meters next to the road
  when would you like to get a notification?
• If there are multiple fruits, what would your ideal notification look like?
