Hi!
I'd like to thank you for such an add-on, I like it so much!
You've made things easy for me!

I already wrote this at AMO on my review, because I didn't know your project was located here.
Now I'll type here about my request:

Do you think is possible to add a "short URL" feature?
Something like Tinyurl.com, Goo.gl, etc.

This feature could be listed on the same place where "about:" entries are located (click -> "protocols" area).
Also, would be good if users were able to change web service via "about:config" just in case that webservice falls down.

I ask for this "second" feature because I faced a problem with "Toolbar Buttons", it used "xrl.in" webservice to generate "Short URLs" for one of its buttons, but since this website died, that "Generate Short URL" button just stopped to work.

OK, thanks for reading,
I hope my request could be well received.

See ya!

Hi
thank you for review!

i looked in the source of https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/shorten-url/ and it seems to be quite complicated.
sadly most of shorteners need special treatment, and changing only url wont work

why do you want this feature to be in smart-text instead of using one of those addons?
if you find about:popup more convenient to use i can make it possible to put action of any menuitem into it
