any suggestions on how to make this work on such system?

Most of my systems are for shared hosting so it usually have at least 4 CPUs and 4GB of memory. I would suggest a system running at least 2 CPUs with 2GB of ram. With your system, I suggest looking into running simpler docker/docker-compose setup.
