Some people in the community have given us some feedback:

These are just a few ideas.

Community interaction:

  • Implement a community discussion section, similar to other map or review platforms such as BTCMap.
  • Create leaderboards for top editors to recognise and motivate contributors.
  • Introduce a feature to reward top editors with a "zap" feature, allowing users to recognise the efforts of trusted editors
  • Allow trusted community members to review reports
  • Implement a like/dislike ssystem like old youtube

Trust and verification:

  • Develop a system to verify edits based on the editor's track record. This could help determine the reliability of the information provided.
  • Consider a mechanism whereby edits made by high quality editors are more readily accepted by the central team, thereby streamlining the update process.

Local collaboration tools:

  • Establish local map editing teams and provide them with tools such as a dedicated Telegram group. This would facilitate real-time discussion and improve coordination of local edits.
  • Integrate the best features of existing platforms:

Rather than building new features from scratch, we could integrate the best features from existing review and map platforms to improve user experience and functionality.

From what I've seen on the map, there are a lot of places that are either fake or outdated. So, some kind of fast user feedback is necessary imo.
I like the idea of like/dislike, I would add something like a termometer to know which locations are known to be accepting crypto recently or similar.

Community discussion is maybe overkill since we don't have such a big community adding and reporting locations right now

Yes, but I avoid using a backend with auth functionality. I guess we will have to implement it 😓.

Maybe auth system with Nimiq Wallet?
