Work started on official agent #45
Comments
Thanks for passing that along. I'm excited to see it happening. The responsibility of keeping this going and maturing it to the point it really needs to be is quite daunting. We'll keep working on bug fixes and enhancements in this package to give everyone something to use now, but I expect we'll want to be moving to the official package as soon as possible. |
Unfortunately I have had nothing but issues with the official APM (serialization errors and "missing" classes constantly - even though the files definitely exist). Wish I had just started with this from the start. |
@gforsythe-godaddy I've checked in on the progress of the official APM PHP client and the rate of issues seems to still be quite high. It's a complicated undertaking though we'll benefit from having tighter integration with the PHP core. I had anticipated the development of the official client package resulting in less use for this package. After four years, maybe it's time to put some attention back on this client, though. Suggestions and contributions are welcome. |
I stumbled onto this in progress official php agent on elastic's github page:
https://github.com/elastic/apm-agent-php
It looks like they are writing it as a php module in order to give it better hooks into the php lifecycle.
