I'm running a fresh emacs-jupyter install on Pop!OS 20.04 and fish (not sure if it helps).
After chunk evaluate, for example:

#+BEGIN_SRC jupyter-python :session py :assync t :tangle setup.py :exports none
from pysolve3.model import Model
from pysolve3.utils import SolveSFC, ShockModel, SummaryShock, SFCTable

from datetime import datetime
t1 = datetime.now()

import pandas as pd
import numpy as np
import matplotlib.pyplot as plt
import matplotlib.patheffects as pe
import seaborn as sns
import networkx as nx
import sympy as sp
from sympy import pprint, cse
#+END_SRC

I got the following error message:

Searching for program: file or folder not found, python

When I run the following commands on my terminal, I got

which python3
/user/bin/python3

Here is my config file:

(setq org-babel-python-command "/usr/bin/python3")

(use-package jupyter
  :ensure t
  :defer t
  :config
  ;(org-babel-load-languages '(jupyter .t))
  (setq org-babel-default-header-args:jupyter-python '((:async . "yes")
                                                       (:session . "jipython")
                                                       (:kernel . "python3")))
  )

I'm doing anything wrong?
Tks for the amazing pacakge

fiy: These code lines were add to custom.el. My emacs config is based on this.

Did you find a solution?

I'm experiencing the same thing when running emacs with wsl2 on windows.

Edit:

From #257

not a solution, but creating a symlink for python3 to the usr/local/bin/python solved...
