Totals for multiple environments or subtotals in a single environment

I would like to use an invoice with unit column as well as an invoice without (see screenshot below, this is done with two environments).
Is it possible to add a total here?

This could be done by making gross total and other variables available outside the environment.

That would also help with generating EPC QR codes. Currently the total has to be modified manually, which is not hard by any stretch but just another thing to keep in mind while writing invoices.
