Alive works great but I'm already tired of entering --[key] commands. Very tiring physically on my keyboard.

There is a shortcut menu bar extension that manages to add what I want but the user-configurable buttons are all number icons. It would be nice to have something similar be pre-configured with Alive.

I may take a whack at building an extension (based on how shortcut-menu-bar does it) that adds just the ones that Alive uses.

In the long run this is something that vscode should support this somehow. I found a vscode ticket for adding a toolbar but there seems be some pushback from Microsoft.

Having spent a day with the button bar I'm not completely happy with it. The bar is way off to the right and from something I read online (forgot where) this seems to be where it has to go. I'm also kind of clueless what icons I would use.

What I've done is to redefine some key bindings when editorLangId is lisp. This shouldn't have any negative effects and I get something I can live with.
