I just stumbled upon oss.gg, an open-source (MIT-licensed) web platform to streamline and (semi-)automate external contributions to open source projects (on GitHub) leveraging methods of gamification. oss.gg was started by the creators of Formbricks, code is here.
I think this approach to community contributions could make a lot of sense for NocoDB and generate huge value for the project, besides helping to build a more engaged and robust community. Just read the website linked above and/or watch the presentation video embedded there. 🙂
From the 8 distinct problems oss.gg tries to solve, NocoDB suffers most of them, too, I guess. So trying to replicate what Formbricks did in its last FormTribe hackathon could pay off greatly in the medium term.
