get feedback from tab/page switching via ui_control, and also support next/prev tab moves #194

It has been suggested (via Slack) that it would be good to get some more feedback from ui tab changes - this could be done by having the ui_control emit a message on any tab change.

Also it would be sensible to let the ui_control support tab moves of "next" and "previous" to enable a more physical scroll through the tabs - though the use of "next" and "previous" themselves could clash with tabs of the same names... - so will need think of something more generic... maybe strings "+1" and "-1" ???
