Errors when doing npm install with Roots Sage (Wordpress starter theme) #703
Comments
This is now fixed. I didn't only uninstall node from "Remove Programs", but also deleted all the leftover folder, also in the appdata folder. Reinstalled node-v0.12.7-x64.msi and everything seem to work. Case closed :) |
Well. This problem is, unfortunately, back again :( I tried removed the node_modules folder and tried again. Problem persists. Have tried to install the Windows SDK 7.1 too and set the path to setenv.cmd (like mentioned all over the net, by other people experiencing this problem). |
Update: Looks like I am one step further regarding this issue. Managed to get try and run "npm install" (still using Wordpress Roots Sage) through call "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.1\bin\Setenv.cmd" /Release /x64. It says folder structure is too long. I've experienced the same when trying to manually delete node_module folder in Windows. That won't work because of the folder path size (I've done rm -rf node-modules from Git Bash instead). However, if this is a deeper problem regarding path sizes, I'm not very optimistic. Here's an updated log from npm install: C:\xampp\htdocs\trends\wp-content\themes\trends\node_modules\browser-sync\node_modules\socket.io\node_modules\socket.io-client\node_modules\engine.io-client\node_modules\ws\node_modules\bufferutil>if not defined npm_config_node_gyp (node "C:\Program Files\nodejs\node_modules\npm\bin\node-gyp-bin....\node_modules\node-gyp\bin\node-gyp.js" rebuild ) else (node rebuild )

Make sure you have Visual Studio 2013 installed. (2012 may also be alright for node.js v0.12.) If you still get the error, try |
