I was watching a twitch stream with one of your contributors and while trying to understand what he was coding (push notifications for new events) saw that there are no mentions for any upcoming events for nodeschool.io and San Francisco's last update was Oct 2017.

Ben mentioned where the event was taking place and the website I could find more information at.
Now while the NS-SF website has a link to a Meetup which mentions the Date Sept 29. 2018. Your main page https://nodeschool.io/sanfrancisco/ only mentions Sept 29. As the nodeschool.io main website is already leading me to believe there are no upcoming events, you might list the year of the next event being 2018 on your main website in case you have any lurkers like myself quickly scanning the website and think it is outdated.

I apologize for the long-winded explanation of why some random person is making a suggestion. Good luck with your conference.

@Archyver can you let us know where that screenshot is from? I didn't know we had a map anywhere :)

@nebrius It's on the https://nodeschool.io/ website. Either that widget on that website itself is totally broken or else nobody has been updating the Google sheet that powers it (or at least I think that's how it used to be set up if it isn't anymore?).

Thank you @Archyver @nebrius @Trott @Xabadu @tlhunter @benhalverson for reporting this, commenting and organizing monthly meetups.

Here's my approach to resolving this for an upcoming event that I signed up as a learner:

  1. @Trott — You're correct that a Google Sheet powers it, confirmed by this and that

  2. @nebrius @Xabadu @tlhunter For each future event, perhaps organizers can try the following? I learned that for each new event, it needs to be added via a Google Form. Quoting nodeschool.io/events:

If you're organizing a NodeSchool event, add it to this site by filling out this form.
If you need to edit an event you've submitted, file an issue on nodeschool/organizers.

  1. Out of curiosity, I tried submitting December 1, 2018 event via the Google Form; it responds:

NodeSchool Events
Thanks! You'll see your event listed on the site soon, check back and make sure it is correct.
☞ Save the unique URL below ('Edit your response') in case you need to make an edit to your event's listing.
Edit your response

  1. NodeSchool SF December 2018 now appears on home page of nodeschool.io:

12-1-2018 nodeschool sf december 2018

Hey @Archyver @lloydchang, sorry for the late reply.

Thanks for the suggestions! I wasn't aware that there was a form to submit those events, but just added our next one and will keep it updated for future ones.

I'll close this for now, but feel free to reopen if you wanna keep this going :)
