Hi, I am right know get information about my time in front of the computer with a script that checks the uptime. However with this approach I am not able to substract the idle time. So when I let the PC on and get a tea or meal the time is added and looks like I was in front the computer working.

arbtt is a bit overhelming for me as I am a casual user. I dont need to keep individual track of programs I use. Instead I just want a accurate time in which i was using the computer actively.

So my approach for this would be: tell arbtt to track * all windows and when I want to make a break i minimize all windows, go to the desktop and leave it so - will this work with arbtt? I just want to know before I dive deeper into the config and so on, because for me this is very complicated as I am used to graphical tools :)

Glad about every answer :)

I am not sure how it reacts to minimized windows actually, you'd have to experiment. Are you using Windows?

I'd expect ! any window $active ==> tag inactive to just work, at least in xmonad.
