This is a feature request.
I am sorry if this is requested again and denied.

I am going back-n-forth between Geany and Notepad++.
One feature of Geany that I find very helpful and is missing is this:
Have a permanent toolbar field where you write something and immediately goes to the first instance of the string in the current tab. I think this is called "Quick search". Hitting Enter goes to the next instance of the string etc

Also there is another permanent toolbar field where you write the line number and after enter you are transfered to that line number in the document of the current tab.

It is helpful because it doesn't take your focus away from the document because it opens another (big)dialog.

@READ again what I wrote. I am proposing something that is available from the mainwindows directly and doesn't take my focus away from the mainwindow.
I know that there dialogs supporting more advanced searches. I am talking about getting the job as fast as possible when you want something very simple to search.

I don't see how the original request here differs from the capability that Incremental Search provides, so I recommend CLOSURE of this item.

How we can back to edit area after opening Incremental Search (but without closing it)? I have the same question for other NPP panels, like Function List / Project / Folder as Workspace?

Edit: Looks like for other F8 works, but not for Incremental Search.
