[Feature request] Give us a menu entry (or button) to configure "File Status Auto-Detection" #9866

Description of the Feature

It's very cumbersome and clunky having to open up Preferences every time you want to to configure or change "File Status Auto-Detection" settings.

Could we please have a menu or a toolbar button for this? Or even put it in the right-click context menu for the opened tab perhaps?

(I've been waiting for years for someone to make a plugin. But perhaps this option isn't accessible through the plugin system?)
