Hi @ajayjohn! Yes, I'm sure we can integrate Join, but could you please give us a more detailed description of how you are going to use this integration actually? This would help us find out what functionality to implement. As for Google Hangouts - we already have this in our features backlog, but it's quite complicated to integrate. So could you please move this request to a new issue, and we will keep you posted there! Thanks for the first issue btw ;) |
Glad to be the one to raise the first issue :) I intend to use join primarily with Home Assistant. Join can not only send regular notifications like other platforms, but it can also act as a trigger for the Android automation platform, Tasker. So, my plan is to have Home Assistant send out Join notifications when certain events occur (E.g. Sensor values crossing thresholds) and have those notifications trigger corresponding automations on my own/family's phone(s). This can work in reverse too. A good example would be to use the bedtime event in my phone's sleep tracker application to trigger a notification to Home Assistant, which would change the home lighting scene, while the home lighting scene in the morning triggering a notification to my phone, that disables Do Not Disturb mode. P.S: As suggested, I created a separate issue for Hangouts. |
Hm. If I got you right you are going to use Notify.Events as a proxy between Home Assistant and Join platform? Which extra features do you want to get from Notify.Events in this case? I mean there is a Join integration for Home assistant which I guess allows you to realize your case. Is there something wrong\missed in this plugin? |
@ajayjohn, up? :) |
Could you please consider adding Join to your list of notification targets? Join is built by the developer of Tasker on Android and serves as a gateway to achieve quite complex automation flows on Android devices.

Hangouts is the Google chat service that has been around for a while.
