Hello, I would like to suggest adding four more alternate characters to separate stylistic sets of Noto Sans Latin:

  • a lowercase L with a tail at the bottom right to ensure that "Building 1l" is recognized as a lowercase L rather than a capital i
  • a lowercase T with a larger ascender, which would be more recognizable at small font sizes
  • a lowercase double-story g
  • a lowercase single-story a

Noto Sans already has a few stylistic sets ("ss04" contains variations of I and J, "ss07" has alternate Greek characters) and it would be wonderful to add these variations. Since the "font-feature-settings: 'ss--';" option is purely optional and can be toggled, this would not danger any existing documents. But people would have the option to decide for themselves whether they need alternate characters for certain purposes.

That's all! Have a wonderful day, you are a great team and it's amazing what Noto has to offer. I am very excited. Thank you for everything!
