too narrow in ubuntu

What steps will reproduce the problem?
    set Noto Sans CJK as the default font for some ubuntu applications (e.g. firefox, spotify)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
    the width of the font in firefox and spotify is narrower than usual. However, there's no problem with most ubuntu applications: including chrome and ubuntu itself.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
    Noto Sans CJK TC/SC 1.001 on Ubuntu 14.04

Have you filed bug reports against firefox and spotify, to determine whether 
the issue is with those particular applications? If not, I suggest that you do 
so.

Some screenshots would be nice to have.

In case of Firefox, I also like to know for what language/script the reporter set Noto Sans CJK SC and TC as the default font.
