Current Behavior:

I tried publishing a package and received an error message like this (redacting my package name):

403 Forbidden - PUT https://registry.npmjs.org/xxx-xxx2020-xxx-xxx-xxx - Package name triggered spam detection; if you believe this is in error, please contact support@npmjs.com

The error message shows a support email address. When I sent a request to that address, I got a message that I have to go through the web interface here: https://www.npmjs.com/support

Expected Behavior:

Error message should point me to the correct support forum.

Steps To Reproduce:

see above

Environment:

  • OS: macOS 11.0.1
  • Node: 14.5.4
  • npm: 7.4.0 (also encountered with npm 6.14.10)

Hey @brodybits! Sorry you ran into this. I've poked our registry team & created an internal ticket to help resolve this. I'm going to close this for now since it's registry-specific. In the future, you can create a ticket at https://www.npmjs.com/support for any website/registry specific issues you come across
