Is git installed on the device where you're trying to install sensor-node? npm doesn't implement git support directly, but instead calls out to the system's installation of git.

Also, npm@1.4.28 is pretty old at this point, and you might have better luck in general with a newer version. npm install -g npm will update npm to the latest stable version for you.

Thanks! Git was not installed. Once that was taken care of, sensor tag installed.
