Python 3 support has been in the repository for a while thanks to @jwiggins, but there hasn't been a release which includes this. It would be helpful if we could have such a release for downstream projects (particularly Enable and Chaco).

@sccolbert was worried by the lack of tests. I have an open pull request adding those but it still needs to be reviewed. It might help if you reviewed the pull request.

That would be #22

Yes sorry for forgetting to give the number.

All blocking PRs are in. A new release should hopefully get out within a few days.

@sccolbert @MatthieuDartiailh I'm using kiwi to optimize layout in matplotlib (matplotlib/matplotlib#9082). Installing from git won't fly in the long run I expect. Is there a schedule for a release? I don't think its super urgent, but I'll get more testers if the build is automated. Thanks!

We agreed with @sccolbert that he would do the releases. Everything is ready, he just need to pick up the version number. Hopefully he will find time to do it soon.

The new release is now on PyPI as a source release. As @sccolbert was satisfied with the current API we tagged a 1.0.0 version.
