The license information is currently very well hidden and not exposed to PyPI and GitHub.

I see that there's a COPYING file which I overlooked at first, but GH expects a LICENSE or LICENSE.md. :)

Renamed to LICENCE and added the license infos to setup .py in 01ccc8d. It won't appear on PyPI before the next release but I consider the immediate issue is fixed.
