I would like to propose this emergency warning system to the municipal representation of my city, in Italy, but first I would need at least the English and Italian languages to be available.

I have now started working on the localization. If you want, you can help with the translation here:: https://translate.codeberg.org/projects/foss-warn/foss-warn-app/

@julianfairfax You were also interested in the translation. Maybe you would like to help?

I am able to translate in Italian from English. Not from German ☺️ Time to make an account with that platform.
I am not a developer, normal user.

Does your alarm system allow one to choose which alarm category one wants to subscribe to? For example:

  1. Pandemic
  2. Food shortage
  3. Natural disaster
  4. Terroristic attack
  5. Broken road networks
  6. Adverse weather
  7. Mountain rescue
  8. Lost people
    etc.

I have translated into French and corrected the English translation. That's all i can do. Off-topic, but, will you look into #50 at some point? It's an annoyance that stops me from using the app.

There are still some things missing in the French translation. I've translated a few English strings, you might want to take another look. Thanks

The emergency warning system in Germany works with warning levels. Each warning corresponds to one of the levels: Extreme, Severe, Moderate or Minor. Also, each warning has a type. But this type is not really used to filter warnings. In FOSS Warn you can enable or disable the notification for each warning level. Also, you can enable or disable warnings for thunderstorms and extreme weather, because the German weather service sometimes overdoes it with warnings. More detailed settings depending on the type are in preparation and will be implemented sometime in the future.

But maybe an important note: FOSS Warn is not a full alert system. The APP only uses the data from BBK and AlertSwiss. The data is provided as JSON and FOSS Warn parses this json-data. So the really complex things on the server side are not in our scope.

I have translated most of the new French strings. I will the do the rest later or tomorrow, as I have some other priorities right now. Will there be more in the near future? Or is this it for now?

All French strings have been translated
