when i remove a node version like: nodist - 5.1.0
it tell me : could not read response for https://nodejs.org/dist/index.json

why would it read response for https://nodejs.org/dist/index.json when i remove a nodejs version?

Nice catch! It tries to look for versions matching your version spec (e.g. 5.1.0) and it does that online, by default. It should however use the locally installed versions as a fallback... I'm investigating...
