My own personal opinion. Because you use Gmail, I highly recommend you use Gmail's filtering and labeling feature.

This happens with default and custom themes.

It seems this is linux-specific. I'm not really sure what next steps are, unfortunately - we're using the standard <select> inputs from Chromium. Are you able to use dropdown pickers in Chrome on your machine?

Yes, I am. I did not notice no problem in other dropdown

Same here. Happens on 0.4.49-c9c04b7 on Linux Mint. Here's a screenshot of it.

Note, I have removed my email off the screenshot myself.

Seems like N1 does not respect the UI theme. In general, the theme is black, but the colors of the menus are silver-ish. Have look at the second screenshot to see the theme in action.

Same issue. Linux Mint (Cinnamon) 18.1. I've tried multiple color themes in Nylas, but always results in solid black dropdowns (assuming black text as well, as I can randomly try options and get different values based on where in the dropdown I click - so it works, just invisible text).
