“absent biological process” (XPO_0116494) currently appears as a subclass of the root “Xenopus phenotype” class. It should be subsumed under “abnormal biological process” (XPO_0116434) instead.

This is a very fundamental debate and has never been resolved. This is also not an xpo issue, its a uPheno one.. This is the current classification of uPheno patterns:

https://ols.monarchinitiative.org/ontologies/upheno_patterns/terms?iri=http%3A%2F%2Fpurl.obolibrary.org%2Fobo%2Fupheno%2Fpatterns-dev%2FabnormalAbsenceOfBiologicalProcess.yaml&viewMode=All&siblings=true

This issue was raised before here:
obophenotype/upheno#510 (comment)

I will circulate it again to the rest of the group.

I put it on the agenda of the next pheno call, see slack. But that change wont be quick. Can you figure out how important this is on a scale from 1-10? If its above 8, we can do the unspeakable and add an axiom that will enable the inference you want.. But only if its above 8 :P @malcolmfisher103 @seger

@malcolmfisher103 @matentzn For the v1 release I would say < 8.
