OPAM 502 Bad Gateaway error from github action

Opam website https://opam.ocaml.org/ is also not available for me, with the same 502 error.

I have installed opam 2.1.5 on macOS Sonoma 14.4, When I try opam init, I get the following error:

[ERROR] Could not update repository "default": OpamDownload.Download_fail(_, "curl: code 502 while
        downloading https://opam.ocaml.org/index.tar.gz")

When I visit opam.ocaml.org in Chrome, I get 502 Bad Gateway.

Hi, sorry this happened to you. The opam dev team does not manage the opam.ocaml.org website, only the source code of the webserver (located in https://github.com/ocaml-opam/opam2web).

We are not on call during the weekend but the people that are and are responsible for the the entirety of ocaml.org, can be contacted through: https://github.com/ocaml/infrastructure/issues

I’ve opened #5876 to make that clearer when opening an issue here.

In any case it looks like the issue has been fixed, so I’ll close this issue. Thanks for the report nonetheless and sorry for the inconvenience.
