I think the problem is in a wrong path to Firefox. I'm with Ubuntu 7.10 and
GoogleHacks version 1.6.

Is it possible then to add "Settings" menu where the user can choose his default
browser?

Under Ubuntu I tested the windows version with wine and it worked just perfect.
@ubuntu.gio you can try it too.

To run GoogleHacks in Ubuntu type following commands in terminal:
1) cd dir1 (dir1= where GoogleHacks executable is located for example cd
~/Downloads)
2) ./GoogleHacks
