Search strings do not properly decode the URL characters #30

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Do a search
2. characters such as : and ( will appear as their URL encoded versions in
the search

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
A search result with copies of The Bible. Instead I get this:
Your search - -inurl%3A%28htm%7Chtml%7Cphp%29 intitle%3A%22index of%22
%2B%22last modified%22 %2B%22parent directory%22 %2Bdescription %2Bsize
%2B%28.doc%7C.rtf%7C.pdf%29 %22The Bible%22 - did not match any documents. 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v1.6 on Mac OS X

Please provide any additional information below.
