This was an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death of weapons expert Dr. David Kelly, who had been the source for reports made by the BBC alleging that Tony Blair and his press office had embellished a dossier dealing with the threat posed by Iraq. The report cleared the government of wrongdoing, while the BBC was strongly criticised, leading to the resignation of the BBC's chairman Gavyn Davies and director-general Greg Dyke.
