Using songs tab hangs the app

Currently the songs tab either fails to load or hangs as soon as the user starts scrolling through it. The only remedy is to force quit the app.

@reggie-ohm is there any way that we can make the app crash on these hangs so that we can try and get a back trace on these issues?

There's no need if its reproducible.

@reggie-ohm Why did we close this issue, nothing changed.

Accidentally closed. I was entering a comment, then decided to add it later, so I tapped "Close" instead of "Comment" thinking it would close the comment text field, not the issue itself... bad UX :-)

...Meanwhile, I pushed performance improvements to github, and have alerted Chris (who might still be awake).

For 3000 songs, there's still a 5 second delay when tapping on the Songs tab, but at least it's no longer a fatal hang. Check it out.
