..i think it's pretty convenient to add a "Not Enough MP" battle message everytime an "MP idiot" enemy. Now that i think of it, this also applies to heroes who suddenly ran out of MP even before he/she can use a spell.

"MP Idiot" enemies can use attacks without having the needed MP. There's no need for a "Not Enough MP" message for "MP Idiot" enemies. As for the rest, I think MP is deducted when the attack is selected, not when it is cast, so the message doesn't apply there, either.

If MP is really deducted when the attack is selected, then this is a flaw that should be corrected, in my opinion (or at least is able to be customized by the game's author). It does not seem right that the player picks a spell, but the battle ends before it is cast, and yet the spell still uses up the MP. The same should go for items being used.

This would be a good feature.

Right now you have no-way of knowing that an MP Idiot has wasted a turn by trying to cas something it cannot.

And although MP limits are enforced when picking a spell, MP is actually deducted at casting time, not at targetting time. It would be possible for a hero to choose a spell, but get hit with an enemy's MP-reducing spell before the attack actually finished.
