I think this page should be more information than the projects page #44.

  • It should include a link to see all the projects we've done.
  • It should point people to projects/issues they can contribute to.
  • It should explain why we github/open source.
  • It should point to resources like data.austintexas.gov.

Ideas for sections based on a previous mock:

  • Recently launched
  • Needs love / Open Issues
  • Suggest a Project Idea / Start a project / new project onboard

I agree, we need an onboarding page. A path to get involved in a project should be available online all the time, so we're not depending on the happenstance of the right people meeting each other at a hack event. I think the page really needs these:

  • It should point people to projects/issues they can contribute to.
  • Recently launched
  • Needs love / Open Issues
  • Suggest a Project Idea / Start a project / new project onboard

I think it can do without these:

  • link to see all the projects we've done.
  • explain why we github/open source.
  • point to resources like data.austintexas.gov.
