This is the Announcements page I'm referring to, which is unlisted currently 🤫 😄 :

Examples of what I have in mind:

I'm thinking that this could become something like the site's Blog section, but for short announcements / news. A bit like a twitter feed.

Which one is it? We recently create contributing docs just on Announcements... 😬

That would be great, could also help people who write to our social accounts to have a list of things to share

FWIW I liked the update framework example and think it would fit well for announcements
