How to represent team based tournaments that are actually played 1v1 with 1 nominated member?

I've seen some tournaments where a team is required to participate in the tournament, but when it comes time to play, a single player is nominated to actually play.

Another example is where teams are composed of members from different consoles, and they take turns playing the same game alternating rounds. For example, round 1 is xbox, round 2 is playstation.

In these situations, its very important to know which player actually played in the match.
