Is it possible to connect to gamemode with that address?

The website is hosted on GitHub pages so that wouldn't work.
I will probably be able to get it to work with something like join.opencnr.com though.

Wherever you purchased the domain I think it should give you the option to add a record or something (haven't done it in a long time).

I've set up the DNS record, it should be working soon.
