Should be tackled more urgently! Especially to help with debugging!

Basic testing is now in place: test_for_api, test_for_utils, test_for_collect, etc.

I'll close this issue for now although of course more advanced testing could always be done! However, in the future, I think for future issues tests ought to be outlined specifically.
