Bundle recurring contributions in a single email

User story

As a financial contributor contributing to multiple collectives, receiving a lot of emails each month is not a good experience: it spams my inbox and doesn't incite me to open them.

Best solution for this problem

I'd like all my contributions to be grouped in a single email, with a short summary of the activity for each one of them. This may require #1916.

Some data: We have 6750 active monthly contributions, but only 5132 recurring contributors. So we would save 1618 emails from being sent each month.

Fun fact: An average email produces around 4g of CO2 (1, 2). So this feature would save 6kg+ of CO2 emissions each month.

Do we still think the batching credit card transactions is a blocker for this issue?

It's pretty complex to do without batching credit card transactions, and I'm not sure if it's a priority. Would be better to discuss that with the team before starting anything.

User feedback

Is there a way to batch notifications from OC? Like, a once-a-week email that summarizes incoming reimbursements, approved payouts, completed payouts, etc? Kind of like the "abridged" option for google group subscriptions.
